I have just finished an amazing course by Mel Robbins. It is called “Break the Habit of Self-Doubt and Build Real Confidence“
First a little bit of background about Mel Robbins and the reason why I wanted to do this course:
I first heard of Mel Robbins on an Eric Worre podcast. On this specific podcast, he mentioned how 100’s of people came up to talk to him at a huge MLM event. They all told him the same story; Mel Robbins’s 5-second rule gave them the courage to get up and go talk to him.
After I finished listening to the podcast, I went to Google and searched for Mel Robbins and the 5-second rule. Mel Robbins is someone who suffered from depression and anxiety. She has had 12 different careers and according to Mel herself “she totally screwed up the first 40 years of her life”.
In 2008 she hit “rock bottom”. Mel was unemployed, had so much debt that she risked losing her house. She also had marital problems as well as a huge drinking problem. Plus she was so depressed that she couldn’t even get out of bed in the mornings.

One morning as she was lying in bed, extremely depressed with no will or any desire to get up, she decided to try something new. Mel started counting backward, 5-4-3-2-1, and then she jumped out of bed. That little exercise that morning ended up changing her entire life.
Today Mel Robbins is the most booked woman speaker in the world. She owns a 7 figure speaking business and she’s the best-selling author of the transformative book, “The 5 Second Rule”.
Mel Robbins had finally figured out how to change her life for the better. She became a happier, more confident, and much more fulfilled person.
I went and bought her book and listened to her TedX talk that went viral years ago. Mel truly is a remarkable woman. She is very passionate about helping people become happier, more confident, and more fulfilled. She doesn’t hide her flaws or mistakes and she tells it as it is.
It is the inspirational transformation that Mel had gone through, that motivated me to do this course. This and the huge passion that she has to help other people.

Real students are part of this online course. It is interesting to hear the things that they battle with, in their own lives. It is almost impossible not to associate with a lot of what some of them are going through.
What I like about this course is how Mel calls on different students in her class. She then tackles their biggest current problem then and there. She gives each of them simple, yet actionable, advice on what it is that they can do to overcome their issues.
The advice she gives is excellent and not that difficult to put into action. Anyone who follows her advice can learn how to increase their confidence and control their anxiety.
The course, of course, won’t be Mel Robbins’s if she didn’t talk about her 5-second rule. She explains why this rule works so well and how you too can master this rule, and use it to be more confident and much more productive.
